About the roleAs Unit Manager for Open Leisure Activities, you play a central role in leading, developing, and ensuring the quality of activities that contribute to the health, well-being, and hope for the future of children and young people. You are responsible for the open leisure activities, which include youth clubs, youth centers, and other leisure initiatives for children and young people.
You have full responsibility for operations, economy, work environment, and personnel, with personnel responsibility for approximately 20 employees. The role involves close collaboration with the operations manager, management group, other departments, and external partners.
The mission of the activities is to offer safe and welcoming environments where all young people feel seen, included, and respected. Through an active and promoting approach, the activities contribute to strengthening young people's personal development, interests, and opportunities to achieve their goals.
An assignment in transitionThe operational area is in a comprehensive development and change phase. All open leisure activities have been procured, and operational transitions will be carried out during the assignment period.
This means you will have an important role in:
Leading and handling personnel-related issues connected to the operational transitions
Ensuring a safe, transparent, and well-functioning collaboration process
Supporting employees through the change process
Maintaining a stable operation with high quality throughout the transition period
Contributing to long-term development and future operational structure
Lead, plan, and follow up on operations based on goals, results, and quality
Responsible for budget, economy, and operational planning
Have full personnel and work environment responsibility for approximately 20 employees
Drive development and change work
Ensure good collaboration with internal and external actors
Work strategically based on governing documents, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and municipal goals
Create conditions for an operation that promotes participation, safety, and inclusion for children and young people
We are looking for you who are a secure, present, and relationship-building leader. You create engagement through participation and clarity, while also having the ability to make well-founded decisions even in complex and changing situations.
You are accustomed to leading people through change and have a genuine interest in issues concerning the living conditions of children and young people. Through your trust-based leadership, you build strong relationships and create a culture characterized by respect, collaboration, and development.
QualificationsRequirementsRelevant university education or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways
Documented experience of managerial or leadership assignments
Experience of personnel responsibility, budget work, operational planning, and result follow-up
Experience of working with children and young people
Experience of working in multicultural environments and with an intercultural approach
Very good knowledge of and interest in societal issues, youth policy, norm criticism, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and related areas
Experience of working in a politically governed organization
Experience of leading operations and employees through change processes

The work is performed primarily on-site in the operation. Remote work may occur after agreement with the operations manager.
