About the role and responsibilities

You have responsibility for the economy, working environment, and personnel. Your role involves supporting, planning, and following up on operations based on a goal- and result-oriented mindset. In total, you have personnel responsibility for approximately 20 people. Collaboration both internally and externally is an important part of the work, and your role involves extensive contact with the rest of the administration, including the Head of Operations and the management team.

As the manager of the Youth Leisure unit, you work with open leisure activities consisting of youth clubs, youth centers, and other leisure activities for children and young people. You are responsible for leading and developing the operations based on established goals and guidelines, which among other things state that the activities should: "contribute to young people's good health, positive upbringing conditions, and hope for the future." Within our operations, all visitors should feel welcome, seen, and safe. We actively work to promote the personal development of children and young people by bringing out, supporting, and developing life goals and interests.

The operational area is in an extensive phase of change where all open leisure activities have been procured, and operational transitions will be carried out during the assignment period. The assignment therefore involves a special focus on leading and handling personnel-related issues linked to the operational transitions, ensuring a well-functioning collaboration and change process, and maintaining stable and qualitative daily operations during the transition period.

As a Unit Manager, you need to have a present and trust-based leadership style where you create clarity, engagement, and direction in everyday life. You have a good ability to build relationships and create a work climate characterized by participation and respect. You have a secure and stable foundation to stand on, which enables you to make decisions even in changing situations and be a support for both employees and the operation.

Most of the working hours are on-site, with possible remote work in agreement with the Head of Operations.

Your background, experience, and competence

• Relevant university education or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways
• Previous managerial or leadership experience
• Documented experience in working with personnel, result follow-up, budget work, and operational planning
• Previous experience working with children and young people
• Experience working with an intercultural approach and environments characterized by diversity
• Very good knowledge and interest in societal issues and the youth political area, norm criticism, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, etc.

Meritorious requirements:

• Experience of previous work in politically governed operations
• Experience of leading in change

What we offer

A consultancy assignment via Jurek at Botkyrka Municipality. You will be employed by Jurek Talents. The assignment is full-time, 40 hours/week, expected to start on August 17 and runs until January 15, 2027.
