Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for providing individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also carries out closed youth care. We operate youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. Working at SiS offers you an exciting career challenge. Regardless of where you work within our organization or what role you hold, you will help create life-changing change.
At our headquarters in Solna Business Park, we have approximately 500 employees, working together to support and develop the agency, which has a total workforce of about 5,000.
Do you want to help develop financial systems, processes, and digital working methods in a socially vital government agency? Then you might be the person we are looking for!
We are looking for a System Economist who wants to contribute to the development of our financial systems, integrations, and working methods. This role is suitable for you if you thrive at the intersection of finance, systems, and business development, and wish to create smarter, more automated, and data-driven financial flows.
Job Description
As a System Economist at SiS, you will play a central role in the Finance and Planning Department, working to develop, manage, and ensure the quality of financial systems and financial administrative processes. The role involves both development work and ongoing system administration, with a focus on creating efficient, secure, and purposeful workflows. It suits you if you want to combine technical system interest with financial expertise and are driven by improving, simplifying, and creating stable working methods. We primarily work with Unit4, ERP/Agresso, Visma Proceedo, and Hypergene.
Your role will be to act as a central link between finance, IT, system suppliers, and operations, for example through requirement specification. In this role, you need to understand financial processes and be able to translate needs into well-functioning system support, clear requirements, and more efficient working methods.
You will belong to the Finance Section but will also collaborate with colleagues from across the Finance and Planning Department and the rest of the headquarters, for example, with system support and advice during year-end closing, budget work, follow-up, reporting, and various projects.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- University education in economics, information systems science, or other education deemed relevant by SiS
- Several years of experience working as a system economist, system administrator, or in a similar role linked to financial systems
- Experience with Unit4 ERP/Agresso or another major financial system
- Experience in developing or improving processes, system support, or information flows within finance
- Good ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing
Merits:
- Understanding of government accounting, appropriation accounting, and financial administrative regulations
- Experience with Visma Proceedo or other systems for procurement and invoice processing
- Experience with digitalization and developing or improving integrations between financial systems and other operational systems
- Experience working with BI systems such as Hypergene or similar
- Experience working as an accounting economist or with qualified financial administrative processes
- Experience in requirement specification during procurement, system development, or change projects
We are looking for someone who is technically skilled, solution-oriented, and has a good understanding of financial processes. You enjoy working closely with both systems and people, and have the ability to translate operational needs into functioning system solutions and clear working methods. You are structured and meticulous, but also development-oriented and curious.
To succeed in the role, you need to be able to switch between details and the big picture. You need to understand how a setting, integration, or change affects the entire financial flow, from registration and approval to accounting, follow-up, and reporting. You have good collaboration skills, communicate clearly, and can provide support to users with varying levels of system experience. Since you will handle sensitive information, you must also have a strong awareness of security and confidentiality.
At SiS, we value good employee relations. This means that as an employee, you take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration.
