We are now looking for a Technical Case Worker for Housing Adaptation!

The Care and Elderly Care Administration in Borås Municipality works towards the goal that both younger and older residents in need of care, support, and services, as well as healthcare and preventive health work, should have a good life every day.

About the Role

Make a real difference – every day. As a Technical Case Worker with us, you will become a key person in making homes accessible and adapted for people of all ages. You will find sustainable solutions and see the impact of your work directly in people's daily lives.

The team consists of two decision-handling case workers, one administrative case worker, one technical case worker, and a unit manager. Housing Adaptation belongs to the business area Authority.

We are located at Ramnåsgatan 1 in central Borås, just next to the central station and travel center.

Responsibilities

We work based on the Act (2018:222) on Housing Adaptation Grants. The grant is a municipal subsidy aimed at you who have a disability. The Housing Adaptation Unit investigates, makes decisions, and carries out approximately 800 adaptations per year for people with various disabilities who need their homes adapted. Housing adaptation can, for example, involve threshold removal, ramps, lifts, or bathroom renovations.

Your main responsibilities include conducting home visits, investigating, and ordering the adaptation that is most suitable from a technical and economic perspective. You also verify completed adaptations by reviewing incoming invoices. The work performed is documented in a digital system.

You will meet people of all ages and life situations in their homes. The work is carried out with significant personal responsibility and involves many contacts, primarily with grant applicants, contractors, and property owners.

You can read more about housing adaptation on Borås Municipality's website or on the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's (Boverket) website.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a building technology education (upper secondary school, university college, or university) combined with practical experience from the industry.

You have experience in administrative work, good computer skills, and express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish. Your work is structured, and you have the ability to prioritize your tasks, as well as being flexible, stress-resistant, and meticulous. You find it easy to work both in teams and independently, and you have a professional approach towards applicants, contractors, and colleagues.

You should be practical and solution-oriented.

We see diversity among our employees as a success factor and welcome applicants with different backgrounds. Knowledge of Finnish is an asset as Borås Municipality is a Finnish administrative area. A B-class driver's license is required for the position.

In Borås Municipality, differences are an asset and diversity is a strength. Here you have opportunities if you want to create, change, and develop. We work to improve everyday life and make a difference together. The people of Borås are always in focus, it's that simple!

Other Information

In addition to meaningful tasks, good working conditions, and professional colleagues, you as an employee of Borås Municipality are offered staff benefits in the form of fitness subsidies, free swimming in the municipality's pools, a benefit bike, and a range of activities organized by the staff association MerKraft.

To facilitate our employees' ability to combine work and private life, we apply flexible hours when the work allows.

Due to the summer and vacation period, the recruitment process may take slightly longer than usual. For questions regarding the position, you can also contact the Housing Adaptation Unit via Borås Municipality's switchboard.

We look forward to receiving your application!
