Business Developer with a Focus on Tourism and Visitor Destination

Do you want to help develop Strängnäs as a vibrant place for business, tourism, and future initiatives? We are looking for an engaged and strategic business developer with a special focus on tourism and visitor destinations. You will become a key person in the work to strengthen Strängnäs as an attractive municipality to live in, visit, and establish yourself in. Together, we are building a strong, sustainable, and welcoming Strängnäs – for residents, visitors, and businesses.

The Business Development Unit works with business development, establishment assignments, and tourism development. The unit consists of a total of six employees, and you will report directly to the Head of Business Development.

Responsibilities

As a Business Developer with us, you will work to drive and develop the municipality's work within the visitor industry, tourism, and place marketing. You will lead processes and create collaborations with businesses, associations, and regional actors, all with the aim of creating growth, increased attractiveness, and sustainable development.

Your main responsibilities:

• Strengthen the municipality's role as an actor within the visitor industry and event development
• Develop collaborations with the business sector within tourism, retail, and services
• Contribute strategic support in matters regarding establishments, business services, and business development
• Represent the municipality in relevant networks and collaboration forums
• Manage and communicate within the Business Development Unit's assignments on the web and social media

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Relevant education in tourism, marketing, urban planning, or other equivalent education.
• Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both written and orally.
• Good ability to express yourself in English as well.
• Experience and confidence in leading lectures, presentations, and talks for both small and large groups.
• Good familiarity with using IT as a support in work, e.g., Office suite, Teams. You will also be partially responsible for our social media channels.
• Valid driver's license (Category B).

We also consider it meritorious if you have current experience in tourism development, place branding, and social media.
