Do you want a meaningful job that makes the gaming market safe and secure? Then perhaps you would like to become our new Investigating Lawyer for our Operational Department? We are an expert authority in Strängnäs with a large and important mission, and we want your help to make the Swedish Gambling Authority even better.

The Operational Department consists of three units and is responsible for licensing, supervision, regulatory development, and environmental analysis within the gaming market. We are now looking for a new colleague for the unit responsible for online gaming and betting, as well as gaming software.

What you will work on with us

As an Investigating Lawyer, you will participate in and lead investigations of actors within the gaming market in collaboration with colleagues. You will quality-assure decisions and provide legal support within the unit and the department on various issues. You will analyze and assess different types of materials and be responsible for, and contribute to, ensuring uniform and correct application of the law. You will be involved in planning and conducting supervisory activities against actors who have been licensed to operate games for money in Sweden. Your work will also include tasks related to license and permit assessments. Additionally, you will serve as a link between the Operational Department and our Legal Secretariat.

In this role, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of regulations and working methods through, among other things, rule-making work, regulatory development, and participation in court proceedings.

Your background and competence

We are looking for you who have a law degree or a Master of Laws. We are looking for you who have at least three years of experience working with qualified legal assessments in an operational business, and it is meritorious if you have worked with supervision in public operations. You have a very good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish and also have good knowledge of English.

It is also meritorious if you have experience of legislative and regulatory work, court proceedings, and a good ability to use English in legal contexts.

The job places demands on your analytical ability, so you need to be able to quickly grasp complex issues and make well-founded decisions based on available materials. You express yourself simply, clearly, and pedagogically. You have a good ability to collaborate with others, and you are helpful, receptive, and take responsibility for ensuring that joint assignments are completed on time. You will work both independently and as part of a working group, providing support with your legal competence.

You take initiative, think new thoughts, and take a stand on issues. As a person, you are solution-oriented and see opportunities. You can lead and handle several tasks in parallel, and as a colleague, you are secure in your role and find it easy to collaborate with colleagues and external parties with different backgrounds and competencies. Since you will be working with quality, you also need to be meticulous.

Practical information

The position is a permanent employment with a six-month probationary period. Before employment, a check against the criminal record register will be conducted according to the Ordinance (1999:1134) on the criminal record register.
