Your role

Our business unit, SMRA (Special Mission & Regional Aircraft), is growing and we need to strengthen our team with engineers in the field of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for GlobalEye. This is a product featuring world-leading sensors for surveillance and monitoring.

The work within SMRA involves developing and maintaining our platforms: GlobalEye, Saab 2000 AEW&C, Saab 340 AEW, and Saab 340/2000. The organization has the character of a small company within a large one, with short decision-making paths, close proximity to the products, and close collaboration between all technical areas. This provides unique insight and understanding of the entire product and its capabilities.

Your role as a Systems Engineer in EMC within the COMPower section (Communication and Electrical Power) means you will dive deep into the product through tasks such as:

• Conducting technical investigations and providing technical support for equipment regarding EMC, TEMPEST & HIRF.
• Supporting equipment owners in developing design basis documents for systems and aircraft modifications.
• Issuing and participating in the execution of test procedures.
• Handling requirements from customers and authorities.
• Qualifying equipment for airworthiness.
• Collaborating with flight test teams.
• Participating in the certification of the final product.
• Working closely with Purchasing against both national and international suppliers.

You will work with a high degree of autonomy, while having colleagues who support you and teach you our ways of working and systems. The work is carried out in close collaboration with adjacent technical areas and organizations. You will be part of large platform projects as well as part of the support for the aftermarket and the maintenance of delivered systems. You will also have international contacts through both digital and physical meetings, with, for example, system and aircraft suppliers. Business travel is involved.

Your profile

We are looking for you with a few years of relevant work experience, preferably within the EMC field. We would like you to have experience with:

• System integration with a focus on EMC and electronics (EMC, TEMPEST, HIRF).
• A strong interest in problem-solving and technology, with a technical education at the core or equivalent experience (e.g., EMC, Technical Physics, and Electronics).
• Previous knowledge and experience from system development, technical leadership, testing/debugging, electronics, or project work are highly meritorious.
• Experience working in the aviation industry is highly meritorious.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to current security clearance regulations. For positions where Saab requires a security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
