Your Role

As a Systems Engineer, you will hold a central and technically leading position where you drive technical work forward, ensure that solutions meet both functional and non-functional requirements, and act as the interface between internal development teams and external suppliers.

Main responsibilities:

• Technical system leadership and responsibility for apparatus functions for GR E/F within communication and data links
• Requirements specification, system architecture, and design from a holistic perspective
• Technical responsibility during procurement and close dialogue with suppliers
• Drive hardware integration in complex system environments
• Verification, validation, and troubleshooting, including in flight simulators
• Analysis of technical solutions and continuous improvement of system performance
• Coordinate technical decisions between various stakeholders internally and externally

You will become part of the Communication and Data Links section, a team of approximately 30 people working in smaller, cross-functional groups. Here, we are responsible for the development of the Gripen's radio communication and data link systems – from early concept studies to verification and support during flight tests.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with several internal functions within Saab, such as aircraft design, simulators, and flight testing, as well as external suppliers, customers, and operational users internationally.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are a structured and engaged engineer with strong systems thinking and a desire to take overall technical responsibility.

We believe you have:

• An engineering degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
• Experience in systems work and integration in complex technical environments
• Ability to drive technical issues and make well-founded decisions
• Experience with, or a strong interest in, supplier collaboration and technical procurement
• Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both oral and written

As a person, you are proactive, analytical, and thrive in a role with many contact surfaces. You have the ability to balance details with a holistic perspective and to drive work forward in a dynamic project climate.

The position may involve travel in connection with supplier collaboration.

The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to the security clearance regulations in effect at the time. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for specific citizenship.
