Part-time Mother Tongue Teachers – 9 Positions

We are now looking for part-time mother tongue teachers who thrive in a flexible work environment and enjoy teaching students of various ages in the following languages:
- Armenian
- Bengali
- Italian
- Korean
- Somali
- Spanish
- Hungarian
- Urdu
- Vietnamese
The Intercultural Unit is responsible for mother tongue instruction in preschool classes, primary school, and upper secondary school. Our mother tongue teachers are mobile and teach at all municipal schools where there is a need. The unit consists of approximately 55 employees, one administrator, an assistant principal, and a principal. We value our diversity, and together we speak around 30 different languages. Our offices are located on Smedjegatan, close to the train station for commuters.
Responsibilities
We prefer that the language you teach is your mother tongue. You will teach during scheduled hours at one or several different schools, ranging from primary to upper secondary level. As a mother tongue teacher, you will independently plan, conduct, and develop lessons based on the national curriculum. You are also responsible for grading in the subject. In this role, you will interact with guardians, other teachers, and principals. Work as a study guide in the relevant mother tongue may also be included.
Qualifications
To be considered for the position, you must have completed upper secondary education and be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you have teacher training as well as experience in teaching through work or vocational training (VFU). We also appreciate that you have good knowledge of the Swedish school system and the school's mission according to the curriculum.
Since teaching may take place at schools outside of Eskilstuna center, a Category B driver's license and access to a personal car are meritorious. Travel between schools with a personal car is reimbursed according to current guidelines.
We are looking for someone who is unpretentious, self-motivated, and has a structured work approach. You are receptive, team-oriented, and have an easy time building good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You are also flexible and maintain a professional attitude.
