The County Administrative Board is an expert agency within areas such as nature and environment, urban planning and rural affairs, directly subordinate to the Government. We act as a link between people, municipalities, regions, and various authorities. We work to ensure that national goals are implemented in the county. We do this by looking at the whole picture in our regulatory activities, by disseminating knowledge, and by coordinating and developing various substantive issues. The Unit for Civil Protection and Emergency Preparedness consists of eight employees and a unit manager. The unit is responsible for developing civil preparedness internally and regionally, risk and vulnerability analysis, continuity planning, security protection, signal protection, and risks in urban planning. The unit includes a deputy unit manager/defence director. The County Administrative Board has the role of geographical area responsibility, which means we must be able to coordinate and direct efforts during crises.

Job Responsibilities

You will primarily work with the protection of the civilian population. You will also be active within networks, the county's rescue services, and in the context of civil affairs. You will participate in or independently conduct conferences and courses, such as regional cooperation courses. The specific content of the position may be influenced by your background and new assignments, and our tasks may vary over time.

Qualifications and Profile

You have:

• Relevant post-secondary education, or can demonstrate competence with experience in crisis preparedness/civil defence.
• Experience working in the field of crisis preparedness, rescue services, or other emergency services within the municipal or state sector.
• A valid driver's license (Category B).

It is meritorious if you have experience of:

• Work within the total defence system.
• Work with the protection of the civilian population, for example within rescue services, police, or equivalent work.
• Project-based work, preferably as a project manager.
• Work in strategic roles.

We will place great emphasis on personal qualities. As a person, you are driven, analytical, receptive, have good administrative skills, as well as pedagogical ability and are easy to collaborate with. You must be able to coordinate and get people on board. You must be able to express yourself well in both speech and writing.

About the Position

The employment is a permanent position with a six-month probationary period. The start date is October 1, 2026, or as agreed.

All positions at the County Administrative Board may be subject to security clearance and military deployment depending on the nature of the assignment.

The salary range for the current position is 45,000 - 55,000 SEK/month.
