Your Role

Our business unit, SMRA (Special Mission & Regional Aircraft), is growing and we need to strengthen our team with engineers specializing in the integration of communication and mission-specific systems for GlobalEye. This involves a product with world-leading sensors for surveillance and monitoring.

The operations within SMRA focus on developing and maintaining our platforms: GlobalEye, Saab 2000 AEW&C, Saab 340 AEW, and Saab 340/2000. The organization has the character of a small company within a large one, with short decision-making paths, close proximity to the products, and close collaboration across all technical areas. This provides uniquely good insight and understanding of the entire product and its capabilities.

As a Systems Engineer within the COMPower section (Communication and Power), you will have a central role where you develop a deep technical understanding of the product and contribute through tasks such as:

• Preparing design basis documents for system descriptions and aircraft modifications
• Issuing and participating in the execution of test procedures
• Managing requirements from customers and authorities
• Reviewing and providing input on flight and maintenance manuals
• Qualifying equipment for airworthiness
• Collaborating with flight test teams
• Certification of the final product
• Working closely with Procurement against both national and international suppliers

The work is carried out in close collaboration with adjacent technical areas and organizations. You are part of major platform projects as well as part of the support for aftermarket and the maintenance of delivered systems. You also have international contacts through both digital and physical meetings, for example with system and aircraft suppliers. Business travel is involved.

Your Profile

We are looking for you with experience in:

• System integration with a focus on hardware, preferably within radio communication and data links.
• A strong interest in problem-solving and technology, with a technical education at the core or equivalent experience.
• Previous knowledge and experience from system development work, technical leadership, and/or project work are highly meritorious.
• Experience working in the aerospace industry is highly meritorious.

The position requires you to undergo and pass the security clearance checks according to current regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for specific citizenship.
