The Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Controller who wants to be a strategic partner to the operations and contribute to creating the best possible conditions for Botkyrka's children and students. Through qualified analyses and financial management, you influence decisions that have an impact on thousands of children and young people.

As a Controller, you work closely with principals and operational managers on issues related to budgeting, follow-up, and financial control. You analyze the financial development of the operations, identify deviations, and prepare decision-support materials that support the management's strategic decisions.

Your main responsibilities:

• Support managers in budgeting, forecasting, and financial follow-up.
• Analyze results in ERP systems and identify deviations.
• Prepare decision-support materials for management and boards.
• Participate in the budget process, follow-up, and annual accounts.
• Contribute to the development of financial control and follow-up tools.
• Monitor rents and analyze operational consequences related to investments.

You work both operationally and strategically and contribute to developing methods, routines, and models for financial follow-up and control. You are part of the Finance Unit and collaborate closely with other Controllers, a Controller Coordinator, and Accountants.

You will become part of the Finance Unit, working together with three Controllers, a Controller Coordinator, and an Accountant. The unit consists of a total of 17 employees with different roles and is led by the Finance Manager.

We have close cooperation and value knowledge sharing, dialogue, and a flat organizational structure.

The Finance Unit is in a development phase where the Controller role is being strengthened and further developed. Here, you will have the opportunity to contribute your experience and influence methods, models, and processes within financial control.

You who apply to us

You have an academic degree with a focus on economics and several years of experience as a Controller.

You have worked close to operations and are accustomed to producing economic analyses and decision-support materials that serve as support for managers and leadership groups in strategic and operational decisions.

Other requirements for the position:

• Experience working in financial systems.
• Experience working in Excel for analysis and financial follow-up.
• Experience documenting economic analyses or economic materials in Swedish.
• Experience working in larger ERP systems.

Meritorious qualifications:

• Experience working as a Controller within the school system in the public sector.
• Experience with financial control or project economics in the public sector.
• Experience working with resource allocation models.

You are also skilled at communicating your analyses in a pedagogical way, so that economic connections become understandable and usable even for people who do not work with economics.

The work involves many contact surfaces, so it is important that you are cooperative and thrive in close collaboration with both the operations and your colleagues. You share insights and perspectives with other Controllers in the unit and actively contribute to joint analyses and discussions. You are curious and want to be involved in developing methods, routines, and processes within financial control. At the same time, you are results-oriented and drive the work forward so that analyses and follow-ups lead to clear conclusions and contribute to strengthening the Education Administration's work.
