Do you want to use and develop your legal expertise to contribute to the green transition? Then the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Naturvårdsverket) might be the place for you. We are now looking for a junior lawyer as part of our case processing team within Klimatklivet.

Klimatklivet is the government's broadest investment support program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by supporting companies and other operations across the country that wish to transition, thereby contributing to Sweden's climate transition.

The mandate for Klimatklivet includes communicating the initiative, distributing funds for measures, as well as evaluating, monitoring trends, and developing the initiative. Klimatklivet is distributed across several units focusing on charging infrastructure, agriculture, and industry. In total, the units consist of approximately 80 employees.

Your Responsibilities

Your primary area of responsibility will involve handling disclosures, appeals, and reconsiderations received by Klimatklivet. You will also be part of legal case processing teams, providing support with legal interpretations of the regulations and state aid rules we operate under. The role also includes standard case processing, such as reviewing and approving applications, progress reports, and final reports submitted by grant recipients to demonstrate that projects are proceeding according to plan and to receive the approved funding, as well as certifying that measures have been implemented as decided. In many cases, there are multiple aspects to consider in the processing that can make the assessment complex. You must have the ability to identify and handle various types of challenging issues, and drive the case preparation to a conclusion by seeking support from colleagues and the Agency's legal experts.

The work may focus on one or more of the Klimatklivet units for "Charge the Car" (Ladda Bilen), Industry, Agriculture, or Charging Infrastructure.

Your Qualifications

Requirements for the position

We are looking for you who have a law degree or higher education with a legal focus of at least 60 ECTS credits.

The duties require you to be meticulous and enjoy keeping things organized. The work involves frequent contact with our applicants. Therefore, it is important that you have good communication skills, are professional in your demeanor, and can act in accordance with the public authority role. During peak periods, workloads can increase, making flexibility and prioritization skills important. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

About the Position

We are seeking two case processors with legal expertise for a fixed-term position of approximately 1 year, with an immediate start date as agreed upon. The position is located at one of the Klimatklivet units for "Charge the Car", Agriculture, Charging Infrastructure, or Industry in Stockholm or Östersund. The work can be performed partially remotely. Travel occurs a few times per year.
