Job Description
The duties include course responsibility, teaching, thesis supervision, and examination at the undergraduate and master's levels in sociology.
Qualifications
To be eligible for appointment as a University Lecturer, one must have completed a PhD in sociology or in a subject deemed equivalent by the employer, and have demonstrated pedagogical skill. Eligibility and assessment criteria for the appointment of lecturers are set out in regulations concerning the employment of teachers.
Other Requirements and Merits
Applicants should have good knowledge of sociological theory and methods and be able to teach on the educational programs offered by the department, particularly the undergraduate program in Criminology and the undergraduate program in Human Resources. Applicants must have experience in teaching and supervising theses in sociology at both master's and undergraduate levels. Experience in course responsibility and familiarity with teaching large student groups are meritorious.
Applicants must be able to teach in both Swedish and English. Very good skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, are essential. A documented teaching portfolio and verified pedagogical merits are required. It is meritorious if the applicant can perform the duties with very little preparation or reading time. Applicants must also demonstrate a good ability to collaborate.
Assessment Criteria
Particular emphasis is placed on pedagogical and scientific skill. The applicant's ability to independently plan, develop, and implement education is considered very important.
