Responsibilities

At Gottorpskolan, we are now looking for a special needs teacher in language, reading, and writing development.

As a special needs teacher, you will work with planning and conducting teaching, assessments, guidance, and observation of individual children, students, and groups. The special needs teacher also participates in operational and method development and serves as a support for the management in working with students in need of special support.

You will be part of our group of special needs teachers and special educators and report directly to the principal. Gottorpskolan has initiated a major project focused on promoting student reading, and in your role, you will work closely with both the school's subject teachers and our school librarian with the goal of becoming a reading school. Your expertise is needed by us!

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified primary and secondary school teacher and have a special needs teacher degree with a focus on language, reading, and writing development for work in lower secondary school (grades 7-9). Previous experience working as a special needs teacher in lower secondary school is an advantage.

You need to have good knowledge of the school's steering documents and the ability to apply them in your daily work. It is important that you have good didactic and pedagogical skills, as well as knowledge of relevant digital tools. You have a professional attitude and build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. We are looking for a person who wants to contribute to the development of both students and the school, and who sees the value in collaboration and community.

Over 550 students in grades 7–9 attend here, and we are about 70 employees who together create a safe and stimulating learning environment.
