Job Description

You will work preventively and promotively with the students' development and learning. You work closely with the school leadership and together with driven and engaged colleagues. You are a natural part of the school's student health team where we work cross-professionally to help and support our students. You work in our special educational needs team, which is responsible for parts of the school's development work with a focus on reading and writing development. You will carry out screenings, observations, and assessments of students' language, reading, and writing skills. You mentor and support our pedagogues in their pedagogical work. You are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating interventions for students in need of special support in close collaboration with class teachers and other staff. You work with support measures both individually and in small groups based on the students' individual needs and prerequisites. You are responsible for following up on students' progress in consultation with teachers and guardians.

Qualifications

You are a licensed teacher with eligibility to teach in grades F–6 and are educated as a special needs teacher/special educator with a focus on language, writing, and reading development.

Documented experience is required from working with students in need of special support, especially within the area of reading and writing development in the early school years.

Good knowledge of and experience in using screening materials and assessment support such as Legilexi.

Ability to analyze students' reading and writing skills and to plan, implement, and follow up on interventions based on a structured teaching model.

Experience of working with formative assessment and documenting students' development.

Experience of collaborating with class teachers, guardians, and student health services.

As a person, you are unpretentious, flexible, and solution-focused. You have a good ability to work both independently and in a team. You show great commitment to school development and students' learning and development.
