Would you like to work at a new school with highly committed and competent staff? We have a vacancy at the lower primary level where you will become one of three teachers working together in two classes.

Sånnaskolan is a grades F-6 school with approximately 450 students and 65 staff members. The school opened in 2020 and includes an associated Montessori track. Sånnaskolan is located in the scenic area of Åhus, near the sea, next to the golf course, with a schoolyard that can serve as an arena for outdoor learning.

Your role with us

As a teacher with us, you stimulate students to learn and take personal responsibility. With commitment and enthusiasm, you create a safe learning environment based on mutual respect and cooperation, through good leadership both inside and outside the classroom.

The teaching is designed based on the goals of the curriculum, where planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation are important pillars. You have positive and high expectations for the students and adapt the teaching to the level of all students, with a focus on the student's best interests.

Through dialogue, you build good relationships characterized by mutual respect and a trusting approach. In your role, you stay updated on events in the outside world and the daily lives of young people. Alternative teaching tools and documentation are a natural part of your work. You systematically reflect on practical work and, together with colleagues, drive development work within the work group/school. You also share joint responsibility for your own and the group's planning and further development.

If you are new as a teacher, you are supported by a mentor for the best guidance in your work. If you are an unqualified teacher, you may conduct teaching but not be responsible for it. Responsibility for grading lies with a certified teacher.

Who are we looking for?

We are primarily looking for you with teacher certification and eligibility to teach grades 1-3 in the subjects of mathematics, Swedish, English, social studies (SO), and natural sciences (NO) in primary school. Secondly, we are looking for you who have subject knowledge at the university level in the aforementioned subjects. It is meritorious if you have pedagogical education at the university level. It is meritorious if you have previously worked as a teacher in primary school or have experience in teaching or working with children aged 6-9. Good ability to teach children in need of special support is an advantage, as is the ability to support students in handling conflicts that arise.

You have the ability to adapt teaching based on each student's prerequisites, and your lessons are characterized by clear expectations, calmness, and a desire to learn. You have commitment, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in the school world and how it is influenced by the outside world.

A success factor is that you can build trusting relationships both inside and outside of school. Furthermore, you are a secure pedagogical leader with the ability to critically analyze your own and the work group's methods for continuous development.

Naturally, you use digital technology in teaching and as a tool for information, planning, communication, and reporting. You organize and structure the work based on stated goals.

As a person, you are communicative, receptive, and well-versed, and you uphold the ethical principles for teachers, as well as having a talent for analyzing and documenting students' abilities and knowledge.

To allow us to assess your application, you must attach your degree certificate and teacher certification. If there are no eligible certified teachers, you as an unqualified person can be employed for a fixed term according to the Education Act. When we wish to offer you the position, it is required that you show an extract from the police criminal record to enable us to employ you, according to regulations in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the Education Act.
