Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a certified teacher with qualifications in Wood and Metal Craft (Trä- & metallslöjd).

As part of the role, you will have three subject colleagues in craft to plan and evaluate lessons with together. Your task involves planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching based on the school's guidelines and the students' needs and interests. We believe in relationship-based and clear leadership towards the students you teach. We work with low-affective handling and a solution-oriented approach. We work with year-level teaching teams. The position also includes mentorship for a number of students, and you belong to the teaching team where you also serve as a mentor. You collaborate with other staff to create a good and accessible learning environment for all students. We value collaboration and working collaboratively where we learn and develop together for the benefit of the school. You will have several colleagues in your subject team, and the school invests heavily in a language-developing approach in all subjects. We have beautiful, spacious premises with great natural light and also have the opportunity for outdoor activities in our large green areas.

Qualifications

You are a certified teacher with qualifications for teaching in primary and lower secondary school (grades F-9) in Wood and Metal Craft. If you have certification in another subject with qualifications for grades F-9, we view this as an advantage. Previous experience working as a teacher is also considered an advantage. You have good insight into and knowledge of the school's guidelines and can use them effectively in your daily work. Furthermore, you have strong didactic and pedagogical skills, allowing you to lead and organize your work to create a calm learning atmosphere and a good learning environment for our students throughout their school day. Based on evidence-based research, you can develop your work, and with good knowledge and practice, you work efficiently with relevant digital tools.

Naturally, you have a professional attitude and work towards building good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.

About the Workplace

Oxievångsskolan belongs to Malmö City but is located in Oxie, just south of Malmö. You can easily get to the school by car, bus, or train. The school is beautifully surrounded by greenery and is close to swimming, sports, and recreation areas. Oxievångsskolan is one of Malmö's largest primary schools with nearly 800 students. It is a F-9 school and also has an adapted primary school F-9. Both the adapted primary school and the F-6 operations are conducted in separate buildings. We have a large schoolyard with a nice outdoor environment. The school has full-time student coordinators and a school librarian. Oxievångsskolan's library is a world-class library. We are also an NTA school and use this material in science teaching. The school works actively with the global goals. The school has its own bee-keeping where we produce our own fantastic honey, which is also used in teaching. The school works actively with democracy work and is part of the European Parliament's Ambassador Schools program (EPAS). The school invests heavily in a language-developing approach, and as a teacher at Oxievångsskolan, you get plenty of time to develop yourself and collegially together with your subject colleagues.
