We are now looking for a Head of Legal with a focus on data protection and contracts, a role that will play a key part in ensuring legal compliance as we shape the smart homes of the future.

As Head of Legal at Alf, you will have overall responsibility for ensuring that our operations meet all legal requirements. Here, you will have the opportunity to integrate your legal expertise directly into product development and make data protection a natural and integrated part of our operations. Since we continuously develop new, exciting solutions for the smart home, managing risks associated with personal data processing will be a central part of your responsibilities.

This includes, among other things, supporting the creation of risk analyses and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA), as well as conducting independent investigations regarding data protection issues. You will also be responsible for handling any personal data incidents. Providing training and support to other employees will be a key part of the role, as will being the main contact for our ownership companies and distributors on these matters. Furthermore, you will be responsible for reviewing and managing contracts with external suppliers and partners, and leading the work to create and ensure compliance with internal governance documents.

We are looking for you with extensive experience in legal work within data protection and contract law, preferably with a background as a corporate lawyer or advisor. You have documented experience leading data protection work within an organization, even if you do not have a formal team reporting to you.

You have a deep understanding of GDPR and other relevant data protection legislation, as well as strong skills in reviewing, negotiating, and drafting commercial contracts.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A deep understanding and genuine interest in GDPR and data protection.
• Strong problem-solving skills to navigate complex legal issues and find suitable solutions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain legal concepts in an understandable way to people without a legal background.
