We are looking for a Social Secretary (Social Worker) for the Reception Unit for Children and Young People. The position is a one-year project appointment. Södermalm is one of four pilot districts for the city's transition work, which means new working methods will be tested and evaluated continuously. The Reception Unit for Children and Young People has been part of the First Line Pilot Area since January 1, 2026.

• We have a school social team and are developing our new school social worker position in collaboration with outpatient care and the Education Administration
• We have an established structure for regular support, such as case reviews and external supervision

Your role

As a Social Secretary at the reception unit, you and your colleagues conduct protective and preliminary assessments regarding children and young people aged 0–20. The position also involves staffing our telephone and paper duty, which places high demands on your ability to structure, be precise, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a legally secure manner.

Your work is based on current legislation, guidelines, and knowledge support. As we are in a change process due to new legislation, tasks may be added or changed. The work is conducted from a systems theory perspective with a focus on resources, strengths, and risks within the family and network.

Your qualifications and experience

• University degree in Social Work (Socialsekreterare/Socionom)
• Understanding and good knowledge of current legislation in relevant areas
• Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
• Good knowledge of social services processes
• Training in: BBIC, Signs of Safety, MI

The following are meritorious:

• Professional experience in authority operations concerning children and young people
• Experience in reception work
• Trained in KOMET and experience leading KOMET groups
• Completed "Hela barnet" (Whole Child) or equivalent
• Further education in assessment instruments such as SAVRY, EARL, ADAD

You are expected to work structured with great flexibility based on the specific situation of the children and parents. As we are a pilot district, we are testing and developing different ways to meet our users' needs, such as flexible social support, drop-in services, presence at other locations, guiding instead of referring, etc. The idea is that during the first contact with the reception, we should be able to provide children and their families with more support than before. Since the working method is new, you are expected to enjoy working in a development-focused, creative, and collaborative manner. As an employee here, it is natural that you enjoy collaborating with others, but also that you can work independently. You are good at building good relationships, you are responsive and clear in your communication. You have good knowledge of child development and keep up with current research.

We are looking for someone who can see opportunities in complex social work, is good at collaborating, is flexible, curious, and has the best interests of the children in focus. We consider it natural that you are responsible, have integrity, and value quality. You also have the ability to adapt to changed circumstances and work with great variation, switching between different tasks.

Great importance is attached to personal suitability as well as the ability and interest in developing the operations. Interviews may take place during the advertising period.
