We are looking for assistants for a female client who, after a long hospital stay, is finally coming home. Here you will become part of a completely newly formed work group. The client lives in a beautiful natural setting in a house by the water, and you won't find a more beautiful work environment. As an assistant, you will be an important support in her daily life and part of a home full of life and commitment.

The woman is a warm and social person who values her relationships highly and enjoys spending time with family and friends. She has a great interest in animals – especially the family's gentle shepherd dog – and in the nature around the home, the garden, and the flowers. She also enjoys interior design, art, antiques, and browsing flea markets, and has previously been a devoted cook.

As an assistant, you will support her in all aspects of daily life, from personal care, hygiene, and meals to transfers and creating a safe and pleasant environment at home. The assignment involves supervision and support around the clock, and you will always work as two assistants together. She has a tracheostomy and receives nutrition via a tube in her stomach, which requires precision and attention. A central part of the job is ensuring that breathing functions correctly, including suctioning the airways.

Who are you as an applicant? We are looking for you who have personal suitability for the assignment. For us, this means that you are responsible, caring, empathetic, and responsive. You are motivated by taking responsibility for another person's well-being and value performing your work with great precision. The chemistry and interaction between you and the client are crucial.

Since the assignment involves double assistance, you work closely with an assistant colleague, and good cooperation between you is a prerequisite for daily life to function. This requires clear and unpretentious communication, where you read each other and plan together. In practical moments, you need to be able to switch between leading and following – sometimes you lead and take charge, sometimes it is your colleague, depending on the situation and what the client needs at the moment. You are responsive to when it is your turn to step forward and when you do best by stepping back.

You are punctual and can keep to schedules, but are also flexible when needed – for example, to cover for absent colleagues. You enjoy taking initiative, both independently and in collaboration with your colleagues, and you have a natural sense of what it means to work in someone's home. You treat the home environment with respect and humility.

Other requirements for the position:

• You have a driver's license and access to a car. The residence is located some distance outside Sigtuna, so a car is required to get to and from the assignment.

• You are comfortable and confident around dogs. The family's shepherd dog is an integral part of the home, so dog phobia is not suitable for this assignment.

• You are a non-smoker.

• You have fluent Swedish in speech and writing.

As a new employee at Novum, you will receive paid theoretical and practical introduction to the tasks. The introduction and training are provided by hospital staff at Remeo and NRC with specialist competence in tracheostomy, so that you have the right knowledge and confidence in your role from the start.

About the employment We apply the employment form for a fixed term as long as the assignment lasts, with an initial hourly employment during the introduction. We are also looking for you who are interested in working extra as needed as an hourly employee. You are offered a fixed hourly wage according to agreement and other compensations according to collective agreement (Fremia-Kommunal: Personal Assistance).

Working hours vary based on your scheduling; the woman's needs presuppose assistance interventions around the clock. In connection with the employment, we try to accommodate requests regarding working hours.

About the recruitment The selection process takes place continuously, and more information about the assignment will be given during a possible interview. Start date is in mid-August. For employment at Novum Assistans, you must have a BankID and agree to use your BankID in the service.

In this recruitment, we apply a personality test for all applicants. It takes about 15–20 minutes to complete, and you will receive an invitation via email after you have applied for the job. The test helps us match the right person with the right job and increases the chance that you, if hired, will thrive with us and have the right conditions to succeed in the assignment.
