Your Workplace

In August 2025, Härryda Municipality will launch a resource school for students with autism and/or speech disorders. This resource school will offer education in a small-group setting. Students will come from across the municipality, and once fully developed, the school will accommodate 25 students in grades 4-9.

The premises have great potential and are conveniently located in Landvetter, right next to Önneröd School. The schoolyard is divided into two areas: one area that invites play and activity, and another where students can sit, play games, or socialize. The school consists of a large building with several entrances and various rooms that will be adapted to the needs of our operations. We aim for high competence and ensure that all professions required by the school are available. We will build up the school and many parts of the organization together. Your Role

The Rekreational School Teacher (Lärare i fritidshem) role has two parts. The responsibility for the after-school center involves structuring, planning, leading, and evaluating the activity. You base your work on the governing documents and curriculum for after-school education. Your planning for students also serves as instructions for other professionals; therefore, you need strong teaching skills and the ability to lead other adults. You oversee, coordinate, and staff the daily after-school activities.

During school holidays, the after-school center offers full-day activities that must be well-planned and structured to provide students with a meaningful, understandable, and manageable stay based on their individual needs.

The second part of the role involves working in the classroom close to the mentor as pedagogical support for students. This gives you an understanding of the operation as a whole and allows you to get to know students and colleagues in various contexts. During the school day, you teach all students in the school in Art.

You are part of a work team consisting mainly of teachers, special education teachers, and teaching assistants. Collaboration around the students is a cornerstone of the operation. As a Rekreational School Teacher, you are expected to participate in work team meetings and other meetings, as well as engage in competence development initiatives. You will receive ongoing supervision in your role as a teacher/special education teacher.

Working at the after-school center involves a rotating schedule where you will be responsible for both opening and closing the after-school activities.

Requirements for the Position

We are looking for you who are a qualified teacher with a specialization in after-school education and have experience working with children with neurodevelopmental disorders (NPF), such as autism, ADHD, and speech disorders. You must have qualifications in Art and feel comfortable teaching the subject.

You are well-versed in the school's governing documents and base your planning on them. You develop learning environments that match the students' needs, have good knowledge of functional variations, and know how to best compensate for these. You use clear pedagogy through AAC (TAKK), visual supports, and digital learning tools as natural elements in teaching.

You work with a low-affective approach and are a good relationship builder. Your view of students is characterized by the belief that all students can and should develop their full potential. You demonstrate and possess excellent collaboration skills with all colleagues. You can lead other adults and view learning as a whole, where both the after-school center and the school contribute to learning.

You skillfully lead students and capture their interests. You show with a big heart that you see every student. The individual prerequisites of the students place high demands on your flexibility and creativity, making this an exciting and rewarding job. At the same time, structure, predictability, and systematic approaches are of utmost importance for the students to thrive and develop.
