Do you want to develop health data registers and statistics for monitoring Swedish healthcare? Health data is in an interesting and eventful time, not least with the preparation of a new health data register law, the introduction of new code sets, and data sharing in Europe. We now have an exciting position involving varied tasks within investigation, production, management, and development of registers and statistics for, among other things, prescribed medicines.

About the position

The position is located within the Statistics Department. You will work in one of the teams jointly responsible for managing and developing registers and statistics within the areas of healthcare and pharmaceuticals.

You will work with varied tasks related to the development of registers, the creation and publication of statistics within the pharmaceutical or health data fields, and, as needed, lead or participate in government assignments and self-initiated projects at the agency. The role involves many internal and external contacts, and you will maintain ongoing dialogue with both data providers (regions) and users of registers and statistics, such as researchers, journalists, and decision-makers. A significant part of your role will involve work within the pharmaceutical field.

Our colleagues strive to be a competent and engaged team that drives work forward through close collaboration and a high degree of trust, creating good conditions for personal development.

About you

To succeed in this role, it is important that you have good communication and collaboration skills and are comfortable representing the National Board of Health and Welfare in various contexts. You also need to be driven, solution-oriented, analytical, and curious. Since the tasks are varied, you must be able to shift focus between detail-oriented work and lifting your head to see the big picture. During recruitment, we will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

We are looking for someone who has

  • experience working in the areas described above, or from research, pharmaceutical companies, or clinical work
  • an academic degree in fields such as pharmacology, health informatics, statistics, medicine, or other education deemed relevant by the National Board of Health and Welfare
  • completed at least 30 credits in statistics and/or quantitative methods
  • good oral and written communication skills in Swedish and English

It is meritorious if you have

  • experience working with pharmaceutical issues
  • experience working within the health data field
  • knowledge of healthcare information flows
  • programming skills in, for example, SAS or SQL
  • knowledge in areas such as pharmaceuticals, health data registers, healthcare classifications, and healthcare

Good to know

The employment is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period. You will be based at the office on Västerbroplan in Stockholm, but have the opportunity to work remotely up to two days a week. In spring 2027, we will move to Solna Strand.

Your job title will be Investigator, and your placement is within the Statistics Department, Statistics Unit 1. When you apply, you will be asked to answer a number of selection questions linked to the requirement profile in the advertisement. Your answers will be used as part of the selection process and may determine whether you proceed in the recruitment process or not.
