Job Description

The teaching assistant contributes to promoting the students' development. The role may include care for individual students and/or work with students with physical or cognitive disabilities. The teaching assistant works based on the documentation provided about the students, such as pedagogical documentation or medical action plans. You are expected to provide individual support to one or more students with neurodevelopmental disorders (ND) throughout the school day. You should contribute to creating an inclusive environment for the student(s). The work as a teaching assistant involves varied tasks depending on the nature of the specific assignment. Collaboration takes place with other professional groups and functions at the school. Contact with guardians may also be part of the assignment if needed. Depending on the assignment, the teaching assistant may work at the after-school center, in all stages of the school, or in preschool class. Flexibility is required as the tasks of the position may change.

Qualifications

You who apply have completed upper secondary education. If it is from the Child and Youth Sector program, we consider it meritorious. You have at least two years of work experience, including work with children and young people. Previous experience working in primary school with students within the ND spectrum is a requirement. It is also a requirement that you have experience providing support to students with diabetes. You have good knowledge of the school curriculum and other documents governing the school's operations. We also expect you to have knowledge of how different disabilities affect the student's learning and how best to support students to succeed. You have knowledge of low-affective interaction. Naturally, you have a professional attitude and work towards building good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.

Elinelundsskolan is located in the middle of a developing neighborhood in the southern parts of Malmö.
