Special Teacher/Special Pedagogue for Sånnaskolan in Kristianstad (Grades F-3)

Your Role Here

Special Teacher
As a special teacher, you work with in-depth knowledge regarding language, writing, and reading development as well as mathematics development, focusing on the individual level. You use special pedagogical methods to plan, prepare, and conduct teaching and support the student based on their specific difficulties.

You conduct and document mappings, investigations, and various forms of pedagogical tests with the goal of increasing understanding of the student's difficulties in schoolwork. As a special teacher, you also contribute your expertise to the work with pedagogical investigations, adaptations, and action plans. You work to remove obstacles and difficulties in the learning environment, develop alternative learning environments, and learning tools. You are a qualified conversation partner in questions concerning children's and students' language, writing, and reading development as well as mathematics development in workgroup collaboration and the student health team.

Special Pedagogue
Based on analyses at the individual, group, and organizational levels, you work in a supervisory capacity with a focus on groups and organizations. You actively contribute to qualified discussions regarding learning situations and the development of the school environment together with the principal, workgroups, and the student health team. Furthermore, you support educators in structuring their work to facilitate students' learning situations. With a salutogenic approach, you contribute to health-promoting and preventive work.

In your work, you create relationships both internally and externally characterized by mutual respect and trust, and you meet the students where they are. You engage, inspire, and stimulate students to learn and take personal responsibility, and you lead and organize the work so that a safe learning environment is created based on mutual respect and cooperation. You systematically reflect on and evaluate the practical work individually and together with others. The responsibilities also include planning, prioritizing, and taking responsibility for your own time and development.

Who Are We Looking For?

For the position of special teacher, you must have a teaching license with eligibility to teach as a special teacher regarding special support in grades 1-3 in primary school, as well as a special teacher degree with a focus on language, writing, and reading development/maths development. You also need a teaching license with eligibility to teach in grades 1-3. For the position of special pedagogue, you must have a special pedagogue degree and a teaching license for grades 1-3 in primary school. It is an advantage if you have a teaching license with eligibility to teach in preschool class.

The assignment requires that you have experience of at least 3 years of well-recognized work with teaching within the school system and experience of teaching in primary school, grades 1-3. As a special teacher, there is also a requirement for the ability to apply in-depth knowledge regarding language, writing, and reading development/maths development. As a special pedagogue, you need to have a well-recognized ability to supervise.

Furthermore, there is a requirement for a good ability to implement the organization's mission regarding students in need of special support, as well as knowledge of adapting work methods and approaches to the conditions of different groups and individuals. Naturally, you are well acquainted with current research and have good knowledge regarding alternative learning tools. You have good knowledge of and ability to work based on current governing documents. The ability to see the organization from a holistic perspective and integrate the student health team's work into the operations is required.

You handle situational learning and leadership based on understanding the students' situations and values and meeting them where they are without difficulty. You create relationships both internally and externally characterized by respect and trust and can engage, inspire, stimulate, and strengthen students to learn and take personal responsibility.

Sånnaskolan is a school for grades F-6 with approximately 450 students and 65 staff members. The school opened in 2020 and includes an associated Montessori track. Sånnaskolan is located in the beautiful nature of Åhus, near the sea, next to the golf course, with a schoolyard that can function as an arena for the schoolyard's learning.
