The Education Department is responsible for preschools, primary schools, after-school centers, upper secondary schools, adult education, as well as child and student health services. Approximately 1,100 employees work here, creating a safe and developmental school and childcare environment together.
Do you want to make a real difference in the schooling of placed children? In Ystad Municipality, you now have the opportunity to take a key role in an important development project.
We have been working based on SAMS for several years – a nationally developed collaboration model to ensure continuity in schooling for placed children and young people. The model was developed in collaboration between the Swedish National Agency for Education, the National Board of Health and Welfare, and the Swedish Special Educational Needs Inspectorate, and forms an important foundation for our work.
Starting with SAMS as a baseline, we are now further developing our processes and forms of collaboration to further strengthen support for placed children and young people. The work aims to ensure that schooling is given high priority and that responsibility, coordination, and follow-up function throughout the entire placement process. Here you get the chance to help shape and influence how collaboration should work in practice, with the best interests of the children in focus.
As a School Coordinator, you are part of our SAMS group, where representatives from preschools, primary schools, upper secondary schools, social services, and central child and student health services work together. The role is central and gives you a unique opportunity to create shared understanding, build bridges, and contribute to long-term solutions.

It is meritorious if you have experience from central child and student health services, social services for children and young people, or have worked in a coordinating role previously.
As a person, you are secure in your assignment, have good judgment, and can make independent decisions. You are flexible, solution-focused, and have an easy time collaborating with different professions. At the same time, you have the ability to look up and see the big picture and translate this into concrete improvements that benefit the development, health, and learning of children and young people.
You have good knowledge of curricula and regulatory documents for preschools, primary schools, and upper secondary schools.
Great importance is placed on personal suitability – we are looking for you who want to contribute, develop, and make a difference!
