About the position

We are now looking for an engaged vocational teacher for the Hairdressing and Styling Program, specialization in Styling. The position includes teaching, mentoring, responsibility for Work Integrated Learning (WIL/APL), and collaboration with external contacts.

In your role, you will focus heavily on developing students' practical craft skills and preparing them for a successful working life in a changing industry. Through your WIL responsibility, you ensure the quality of students' internship placements and act as the school's link to the business community.

The position is a permanent full-time (100%) appointment and is a holiday position with a desired start date of August 10, 2026.

Who are you?

For this position, we are looking for you who are a certified teacher with the eligibility to teach on the Hairdressing and Styling Program, or alternatively possess pedagogical competence that the employer assesses as equivalent. In addition to your pedagogical foundation, you have formal education and documented competence in makeup, for example as a certified makeup artist. You also have several years of experience working actively in the industry, which has given you strong industry knowledge and an updated professional network that you can utilize in the role. It is an advantage if you have special practical skills and professional experience in hair (styling and updos), nails (manicure/nail therapist), clothing/style analysis, and digital creation. Furthermore, previous experience in managing or coordinating students' Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and familiarity with handling contact with internship providers is seen as a major plus.

As a person, you are a driven, creative, and skilled professional with a great passion for the styling profession. You have strong professional pride and are eager to pass on your craftsmanship skills and industry knowledge to the next generation.

To succeed in the role, you must have good insight into current industry trends, techniques, and requirements. You have substantial experience working with young people, place great value on your pedagogical leadership, and exercise strong and clear mentoring towards your students. You have an inclusive approach where the student's individual development and learning are always in focus. You also thrive in a team with strong collaboration.
