On behalf of our client, Miljonbemanning is now looking for a Senior Accountant with specialist competence in consolidated financial statements and municipal group accounting.

The client is a large municipal organization with extensive responsibility for financial control, accounting, follow-up, and quality assurance. The finance function now needs to be strengthened with senior competence to develop group accounting work and to evaluate and implement system support for handling consolidated financial statements.

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a central role in ensuring quality, efficiency, and traceability in the accounting processes. You will work both operationally and advisory, while simultaneously contributing to reducing the organization's vulnerability through documentation and knowledge transfer.

As a Senior Accountant, you will work with the preparation, quality assurance, and development of the municipality's consolidated financial statements. The assignment includes work related to both interim reporting and annual accounts.

You will also participate in requirements specification, evaluation, and implementation of new system support for group accounting. The role requires that you can work independently, drive issues forward, and collaborate closely with internal finance functions, municipal companies, and other relevant operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and supporting work with consolidated financial statements during interim periods and year-end.
• Ensuring that accounting follows LKBR (Swedish Municipal Accounting Board), RKR (Swedish Accounting Standards Board), and other applicable regulations.
• Quality-assuring and structuring the collection of data from municipal companies and operations.
• Performing reconciliations, analyses, and consolidation work.
• Developing and documenting routines, templates, and working methods.
• Contributing to improved analyses and notes to the financial statements.
• Providing qualified support to the finance function on matters related to municipal group accounting.
• Participating in requirements specification and evaluation of system support for consolidated financial statements.
• Assisting in testing, quality assurance, and implementation of the system.
• Designing processes and working methods related to the new system support.
• Contributing to change management and establishment of new working methods.
• Documenting implemented improvements and transferring knowledge to internal resources.

• Has several years of documented experience in qualified accounting work.
• Has extensive experience with consolidated financial statements and group accounting.
• Has documented experience with municipal group accounting.
• Has very good knowledge of LKBR and RKR recommendations.
• Has previous experience in accounting within municipal operations.
• Has experience with interim reporting and annual accounts.
• Has worked in large and complex financial systems.
• Can work independently at a senior specialist level from day one.
• Has good analytical skills and a structured approach to work.
• Is meticulous, quality-conscious, and solution-oriented.
• Has good ability to document processes, routines, and working methods.
• Can communicate well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• Has good collaboration skills and can build trust within the organization.

Experience with municipal group accounting is a requirement for the assignment.

It is an advantage if you have experience implementing system support for group accounting, have worked in Unit4 ERP, or have led development and change projects within the accounting area.

This is a staffing assignment via Miljonbemanning.

The assignment is full-time, comprising 39 hours per week. The planned start date is August 2026, and the assignment is expected to last for five to six months - with the possibility of extension.

The work is performed at the client's regular workplace. The scope and focus of the assignment may be adjusted continuously based on operational needs.
