Workplace Description

Björnbodaskolan is a preschool class to grade 3 school (F-3), and Sörgårdsskolan is a preschool class to grade 6 school (F-6). The schools are located in an area surrounded by nature that is actively used with the students. There are good public transport connections to both schools.

Job Description

In your role as a care assistant (barnskötare) with us, you are expected, in addition to the care assignment, to base your collaboration with your colleagues on the student's perspective to plan, implement, and evaluate the after-school program (fritids) based on the curriculum, national goals, and regulatory documents, as well as the school unit's goals regarding students' reading and writing development, knowledge in mathematics, safety & study environment, and a systematic approach to the after-school program with a focus on transitions. At the interview, you must present documentation that proves your competence.

Qualifications

You should be able to:

  • Take independent responsibility for the opening at 06:30 and closing at 18:00 for the student group in the after-school program.
  • Conduct active movement games and physical activities with students during breaks and the after-school program. You must be able to lead the group, have an inclusive approach, ensure good safety, and provide supervision.
  • Work with a clear language-developing approach with the tasks the teacher has planned for a group of students or individual students. It is meritorious if you, in combination with the other requirements, have documented experience and knowledge of speech disorders.
  • In your professional role, contribute to the school unit's good results.

We are looking for you who, in your application, have documentation proving that you meet the competence requirements, have experience in the profession, a care assistant education with good results, and references. The personal qualities we are looking for should be confirmed at the interview, by your references, and your documentation.

  • You have a professional approach and consider the best interest of the operation by taking a holistic perspective even in a pressured work situation. You take supervisory responsibility for all students at the school and follow the school's routines.
  • You have the ability to collaborate with students, guardians, and colleagues. You demonstrate this through the secure relationships you create and how you contribute to everyone's work environment.
  • You have pedagogical insight and understand, adapt to, and meet the student for learning and care. You demonstrate this by informing yourself about what you need to skillfully practice your profession as a care assistant.

Working in Stockholm

In the City of Stockholm, there are approximately 140 primary schools and 30 upper secondary schools with different profiles.
