Bjurslättskolan is located in Kvillebäcken, near Wieselgrensplatsen in central Hisingen, in an expanding area where the old meets the new in a mixed socio-economic environment around the school.

The school offers preschool class, grades 1-6, special needs education, and after-school care (fritidshem). Approximately 630 students attend the school, and around 100 staff members work there. The school has one principal and three deputy principals, each responsible for a specific part of the school: grades F-2, 3-6, and special needs education.

We are currently looking for two after-school care teachers, one for preschool class and one for grade 2.

During the school day, you work together with class teachers on teaching and recess activities for the students. After school hours, you work at the after-school care center together with colleagues. There, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the activities together in your work team.

You have a special responsibility for planning the after-school care but also plan activities together with the class teacher. At the school, we work together to improve our after-school care centers during a joint meeting time every week for staff working in after-school care. Here, we focus on developing after-school care and create a forum for collegial learning.

The job also involves collaboration with other teachers, after-school care teachers, student health services, guardians, and other actors outside the school. Our goal is for Bjurslättskolan to be a pleasant and learning environment where students have influence and take responsibility together with adults for both their school day and their after-school day.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified after-school care teacher. You have experience in treating students clearly and with low affective demands.

For us, it is important that you have the ability to motivate and inspire students to learn. You have good pedagogical skills, and we assume that you see each student from a holistic perspective and have a positive view of students where you are sensitive to students' differences and various needs.

You share the school's view that students do right if they can. You create good relationships with students and colleagues and have a desire to contribute to the development of the school's activities. You have the ability to work systematically and together with others to perform tasks and achieve goals. You understand the common mission at the after-school care center, act based on it, and contribute to the whole for the students.
