Teacher for After-School Center at Glasbergsskolan

Glasbergsskolan is a school with approximately 300 students ranging from preschool class to grade 6. We are now looking for an engaged and creative teacher for the after-school center. There are three work teams here working with students in grades F-3, 4-6, and at the after-school center. The school is modern with exciting architecture where large glass sections dominate the building, resulting in bright and beautiful premises. We offer you meaningful work in a workplace focused on creative learning environments, play, active work with value-based issues, and a language and knowledge-developing approach. The proximity to the school forest and Gunnebo Castle means that activities can conveniently be held outdoors during the school day.

At Mölndal City's School Administration, we work every day to create the best conditions for the development and lifelong learning of children and students. With approximately 2,000 dedicated employees and 12,000 children and students in our operations, we are Mölndal's largest administration - and a hub for future education. Here you become part of a curious, brave, and solution-focused organization where innovation is encouraged and the child's best interest always comes first.

Job Responsibilities

As a teacher, you help lay the foundation for lifelong learning. Being professional at Glasbergsskolan means you have high expectations and a belief that all students can achieve success based on their prerequisites. We want the school to be characterized by a clear focus on ensuring that all children, based on their prerequisites, get a foundation to succeed in their continued schooling. An inclusive perspective on pedagogical work permeates our operations. Here there are experienced and skilled educators, and we encourage collegial learning.

You will, together with your colleagues, plan, develop, and implement teaching at the after-school center as well as in the break activities. As a teacher in the after-school center, you contribute to a positive and developmental environment with a good balance of care and learning. Together with colleagues, you drive and develop Glasbergsskolan's after-school center. In your role, you contribute knowledge and ideas on how you, together with your colleagues, should systematically realize the goals based on the curriculum and values in accordance with Lgr22.

Glasbergsskolan's after-school center is in a development phase. Therefore, we are looking for someone who not only has the ability to lead and organize work effectively but also to inspire and motivate your colleagues. An important part of teaching in the after-school center is aesthetic expressions; promoting students' imagination and ability to learn together with others through play, movement, and creativity. Another important part of teaching is movement and understanding what affects health and well-being, as well as developing students' ability to take into account personal needs for balance between activity and rest.

During the school day, you support classes based on goal fulfillment and the compensatory mandate. This may mean that during school hours you are a support for and help the whole class, groups of students, or individual students. During after-school hours, you lead groups of students in various activities outdoors and indoors. The school is well equipped with digital tools, and we work actively with digitalization.

The culture at Glasbergsskolan is characterized by a positive approach, a culture of participation, and innovative employees with a forward-looking attitude. We are a very driven staff group that sees opportunities before obstacles. Skilled educators ensure that every child is met and developed from their own level, from preschool class to grade 6, and through a meaningful leisure time at the after-school center.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as a teacher F-3/primary school teacher in after-school centers or are awaiting certification. By law, certification is required for permanent employment. You should be able to translate pedagogical theory into practical work and be well familiar with the school's and after-school center's governing documents. You reflect on the practical work in a systematic way, both individually and together with colleagues. You can organize your work, are secure, stable, driven, and solution-focused.

We also see that you:

  • Have good leadership qualities.
  • Have a good ability to communicate and create positive relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.
  • Are responsible and structured, with a good ability to plan and prioritize your work in an effective way.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate the activity based on national goals and guidelines.
  • Can take own initiatives, are engaged, and interested in children's learning and development.
