Are you a positive, creative, and playful person who enjoys working with children? Then you might be the person we are looking for.

We are looking for a new assistant for a young man living in Söndrum. He is a happy, charming, and kind young man who likes wearing nice clothes, playing PlayStation, and keeping the farm tidy. He has cerebral palsy (CP) and therefore needs assistance from his assistants around the clock.

The assistants act as his arms, legs, and voice. He communicates clearly using an eye-tracking computer and body language, so you will quickly learn to understand what he wants and thinks. As an assistant, you will also help with training, medication, hygiene, and various leisure activities. He does everything that children do, in his own way. As an assistant, you play a vital role in helping him get the most out of every day. He loves being outdoors and playing, regardless of the weather or season.

The family often goes on various day trips. A few times a year, they also go on longer trips, such as skiing holidays in the mountains or to Legoland. Since the assistants travel with them, it is a requirement that you are available to be away from home for approximately 1 week. Skiing or snowboarding skills are a big plus.

As the young man has double assistance, all waking hours will be shared between you and a colleague. Therefore, it is important that you thrive in close collaboration with your colleagues. He has a wonderful group of people who enjoy each other's company both at and outside of work.

We are looking for someone who is positive, adaptable to different social situations, and enjoys active and varied work where you will both give and receive much joy. You should not have any physical limitations, as lifting and assistance with mobility are part of the job. You must also be able to refrain from smoking and strong scents before and during your shifts.

The extent of employment is negotiable. Working hours may vary: afternoons, evenings, weekends, and awake nights, but can also be daytime during school days. Longer shifts may occur. We offer an introduction period of approximately 2–3 weeks to give you plenty of time to learn the job. You will also be offered training in, for example, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)/eye-tracking computers. If interested, there is also an opportunity to combine the position with staffing responsibility for 1 week per month at a later stage.
