We are looking for a personal assistant for approx. 70% during the summer, with the possibility of a permanent position at 50%.

You will be part of an assistant group working to provide our client with the best possible assistance. The client is a 22-year-old man with Down syndrome who needs support from personal assistants around the clock. He has recently graduated from a sign language high school in Örebro and now lives in his own apartment in central Falkenberg. He needs support with daily life activities as well as activation.

The man, in his 20s, leads an active life with interests such as orienteering, attending church, swimming, etc. It is desirable that you, as an applicant, have an active lifestyle yourself. The man has a hearing impairment and communicates using sign language. We are looking for you who are mature, responsible, cheerful, and positive. You are creative with a willingness to come up with activities, while also being structured, as structure and planning are important in this role.

It is considered an advantage if you are proficient in Swedish Sign Language or have a strong interest in learning it, as our client communicates using sign language. Experience working with signs as support is also considered an advantage.

We see that you are a confident person and enjoy taking initiative, both independently and in collaboration with others in the group.

It is desirable that you have good physical fitness, are cheerful, and positive. The chemistry and interaction between you as an assistant and the client are crucial for the quality and experience of the work.

You will receive training and introduction to the medical tasks and ongoing competence development based on the needs of the assignment.

• Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing are required.
• You must not be a smoker.
• Knowledge of signs as support or sign language is an advantage.

About the employment

The employment is a fixed-term position during the summer months, approx. 70%, with good opportunities for a permanent position at 50% after the summer as long as the assignment continues. We offer a fixed hourly wage according to agreement. Other compensations are according to the collective agreement.

Working hours vary, and you are expected to be able to work days, evenings, and night shifts.

About the recruitment

The selection process is ongoing, and more information about the assignment will be provided during a potential interview. Start date is by agreement. To be employed by Novum Assistans, you must have a BankID and agree to use your BankID in the service.
