Counselor for Praktiska Gymnasiet in Halmstad

Do you want to be a reassuring adult, a listening ear, and a driving force for student well-being? Then we are looking for you as a counselor at our school – a key figure in our student health work, focusing on attendance, preventive measures, and strong collaboration.

With us, you will encounter a vocational school with 300 students, nine different programs, and a warm, collaborative work climate. Here, relationships, security, and hope for the future are at the center. We believe in the power of working together – across subject boundaries and professions – and you will play a central role in this work.

As a counselor, you will become part of our student health team and collaborate closely with teachers, mentors, the student health team, and school management. Your work is both preventive and promoting, and you will have a key role in investigating, understanding, and addressing student absenteeism – with the goal of creating a school where everyone wants and can be present.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are educated as a social worker (socionom) or have equivalent counselor competence. You:

• Have experience in student health work in schools or similar operations.
• Have the ability to build trust and meet young people in various life situations.
• Are structured, collaborative, and self-initiating.
• Are passionate about working preventively, promotively, and solution-focused.

Experience with absenteeism investigations is a big plus!
