Do you want to work as a personal assistant and contribute to everyone's equal right to a good life?
In this role, you will make a difference in people's daily lives and, together with us, work towards Humana's vision – Everyone has the right to a good life.
About the position
Personal assistance is a support measure under the LSS Act (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments). In your role as a personal assistant, you will primarily help the customer with everyday issues and basic needs. Your work involves safeguarding the customer's self-determination and integrity, contributing to a smooth daily routine. Each assistance assignment is uniquely adapted to the customer's life, so tasks may vary depending on the workplace.
About the customer
The customer is a 38-year-old man living in Varberg with his family and dog. He has autism and tuberous sclerosis and needs support to secure his daily life around the clock, both at home and outside. He has a mild and curious personality and appreciates the presence and help of his assistants. He has many interests and leads an active life. He attends day activities where he diligently performs simple carpentry tasks, such as building propellers, small cars, and boats. In his free time, he often enjoys cycling outdoors. He likes being by the sea, both at home and when boating in the archipelago, and he finds it very fun to take the train to Gothenburg to visit Liseberg.
In working with the customer, we apply low-affective handling (LAB) combined with a strong focus on motivational work and clear pedagogy.
Motivational work: A large part of the daily work involves inspiring and motivating the customer to perform various tasks and participate in activities. Staff must be able to read the customer's mood of the day and find the right keys to encourage him in a positive way.
Low-affective handling: We work preventively to create a safe, stress-free environment. We avoid confrontations and set demands in a way adapted to the customer's conditions.
Clear pedagogy: A 7-step method applied to make daily life understandable, manageable, and meaningful through well-proven and adapted routines.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who is confident in themselves and has a strong interest in getting to know and developing together with our customer over the long term. You are interested in learning or further developing your skills in the work methods mentioned above. You thrive in an active role and understand the importance of what each activity means for the customer, and how he is influenced, stimulated, and learns. Most importantly, you are receptive and have the ability to give the customer time with patience.
Requirements for the position:
- Previous knowledge or interest in working with methods such as clear pedagogy, low-affective handling, and motivational work.
- Good knowledge of Swedish.
Merits for the position:
- Experience working with the aforementioned methods.
- Completed training in these methods or an interest in doing so.
- Previous experience with alternative communication.
- Shares the customer's interest in simple crafts and can or wants to learn to perform tasks together with the customer during day activities.
Personal suitability will be given great weight.
