Ministry of Rural Affairs and Infrastructure, Unit for Fisheries, Hunting and Reindeer Husbandry

Do you have experience working in a central government authority and/or a politically led organization? Do you want to work with hunting and fisheries policy issues, including EU coordination and policies regarding hunting and wildlife management? The role involves working with both national and EU/international issues.

The unit is responsible for matters concerning commercial and recreational fishing, aquaculture, the fish processing industry, the EU's Common Fisheries Policy, the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF), and the management of fishery resources. The responsibilities also include fishery conservation and environmental issues related to fishing. The unit is also responsible for issues regarding hunting and wildlife management, reindeer husbandry, state-owned land above the cultivation limit and on reindeer grazing mountains.

The unit is now seeking a colleague who will work with fisheries policy issues, including EU coordination, as well as hunting and wildlife management policies. Other related issues may also become relevant. This involves working with both national and EU/international matters. The role includes preparing negotiation materials, processing cases, and providing background information upon request from political leadership. The work involves close collaboration with colleagues within the fisheries, hunting, and wildlife management areas, as well as cooperation with other units on broader issues related to these policy areas.

Your background

You have a relevant academic education and experience from working in a central/regional government authority and/or a politically led organization, which the employer deems relevant. You must also have experience working with fisheries, hunting, and wildlife management policies, as well as EU-related issues, and possess good knowledge of EU institutions and working methods.

You have good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Current experience working in the Government Offices (Regeringskansliet) is meritorious. Additionally, experience with EU coordination and knowledge of EU fisheries policy is considered an advantage.

Fixed-term employment for 4 months, from September 1 to December 31, 2026.

A security clearance may be conducted before a decision on employment is made.
