This is an opportunity for you to combine qualified accounting work with process development, reporting, and financial control. You will play a central role in the organization's Shared Service Center, responsible for accounting, consolidation, and reporting, while collaborating with colleagues and operations in several countries.

The role is newly established, giving you the opportunity to influence working methods, routines, and areas of responsibility together with your manager and colleagues. About the role

As a Senior Accountant, you are part of the organization's Shared Service Center and play a central role in ensuring that We Effect's resources are used efficiently, transparently, and in accordance with the organization's values and donor requirements. You work closely with the Head of Accounting & Shared Services, colleagues in Sweden, and country offices globally.

Examples of responsibilities:

• Responsible for the organization's reporting, including annual accounts, reporting according to Giva Sweden and Svensk Insamlingskontroll, VAT reporting, and income tax.
• Responsible for ongoing bookkeeping and quality assurance in the general ledger for Sweden.
• Responsible for the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts for Sweden.
• Responsible for the period-end closing process and coordinating the monthly closing for the entire organization.
• Responsible for the organization's consolidation and monthly reporting.
• Ongoing operational tasks within the organization's Shared Service Center.
• Lead and participate in selected projects and activities within the finance area.

To succeed in the role, we believe you have

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Economics/Finance.
• 6–10 years of relevant experience in qualified accounting work and solid experience working according to Giva Sweden's guidelines and K3.
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English is a requirement. Ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Spanish is an advantage.
• Experience working in international development organizations and experience in developing financial processes by using various IT tools is an advantage.
• Ability to work with large amounts of data and maintain accuracy even under time pressure.
• Experience in implementing process improvements and automation.
• In-depth knowledge of Swedish accounting principles and practice.
• Good knowledge of cloud-based financial and administrative systems as well as Microsoft 365.
