Källängen School is a grades 4–9 school with just under 700 students, located in beautiful surroundings with good transport links in northern Lidingö. The school hosts Lidingö’s only local special education group, and development work is ongoing at Källängen and across Lidingö regarding special education groups. The school was built in 1953 and features well-equipped facilities with good access to materials, a library, and teaching aids. At Källängen School, we work to create an attractive and gender-equal meeting place for children and young people.

Lidingö Municipality has 11 municipal primary schools where we focus on knowledge and joyful learning, reflected in our good academic results. We offer a school that is part of the digital society and place great emphasis on preparing students for the future. Here, school leaders and teachers develop together – we see, support, and lift each other up, so that both talent and joy in work can grow.

Job Responsibilities

Your mission is to drive pedagogical development forward in your department together with your work team and contribute to a positive work environment filled with joy and energy. Together with your colleagues, you will create an after-school center activity where students feel safe, have the opportunity to learn new things, and are inspired towards health and movement in various ways throughout the day.

Planned break activities utilizing our fantastic schoolyard and local environment are the responsibility of the after-school center and are an important and appreciated part of the students' school day. We want to leverage everyone's competencies to provide an inspiring breadth in planned activities. Outdoor physical activities and outdoor life are areas within the after-school center operations that we wish to develop further together with you. Lidingö is the island of health, and we hope that you, like us, believe that your own health is important and are eager to convey and inspire others to physical activities and time spent in nature.

Values-based work permeates the entire school, and we are all involved in this. The after-school center has a significant and natural responsibility for planned values-based activities both in the classroom and in the after-school center.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as a teacher for after-school centers, hold a diploma in after-school pedagogy, or are an after-school leader. Experience with a focus on outdoor life and outdoor activities is desirable as this is an important part of our operations. Complementary education in areas such as outdoor life is meritorious, as is experience and willingness to work with digital tools.

At our workplace, you will receive training in the conflict management method "Medling" (Mediation). Collaboration between school and after-school center is a success factor and something we value highly. As a teacher for after-school centers, your competencies are important both in the classroom and within after-school center activities.

Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent.
The municipality applies individual salary setting. Start date by agreement.
