The Secretariat for EU Legal and Institutional Affairs is the central hub for EU law within the Government Offices and has several important roles, including EU legal advice, review of EU law, infringement cases and cases before the EU courts, institutional issues within the EU, and relations with the Riksdag on EU matters.

The position involves a broad area of responsibility with varied tasks. The duties primarily include handling documents from EU institutions, the Court of Justice of the European Union, as well as disclosure management. Furthermore, you will handle calendar matters, some visitor and meeting management, and other administrative support to the secretariat.

Your background

We are looking for you who have completed upper secondary education with passing grades and good ability to express yourself well in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing. You also have documented experience of independent work with qualified administrative tasks. If you have relevant post-secondary education, experience from working with similar tasks in the Government Offices, in the judiciary, in a state authority, or at EU institutions/bodies, we consider this advantageous. Knowledge of French is also considered an advantage.

To succeed and thrive in the role, you must be responsible, meticulous, and independent, with very good judgment and high integrity. Since the position involves many different contact points, we also see that you have the ability to create trusting cooperation at all levels both internally and externally, and that you value good relationships. The position also requires you to be driven and service-oriented. Since the work environment is largely affected by the intense external situation, high stress tolerance and good ability to handle a high pace are required.

The appointment is for a fixed-term employment of approximately 1 year with an start date in October 2026.

The position is security-classified and a security investigation with register check will be conducted before a decision on employment is made.
