Are you a statistician who enjoys programming and wants to work in an important and complex field? At our organization, you will develop alongside knowledgeable and helpful colleagues. Join us and contribute to the future of education!

About the job

You will be responsible for producing, publishing, and developing official statistics together with your closest colleagues. As a statistician, your role is to plan and further develop our data collections, review data, and produce the statistics to be published. You also perform the supplementary processing required for analysis and are responsible for developing programs when changes occur. Occasionally, you may participate in other assignments within the department involving follow-up and evaluation.

The Swedish National Agency for Education (Skolverket) is the authority responsible for Sweden's official statistics on the school system and childcare. Every year, we collect data and report statistics on children, students, staff, costs, and educational outcomes. In addition to official statistics, we also publish other types of statistics. Our statistics serve as a crucial foundation for policymakers, researchers, other authorities, as well as the media and the general public. Consequently, there is a high demand for our statistics. Currently, several reforms in the school sector are underway that will impact the statistics.

Here, you will have varied tasks at the intersection of statistics, programming, analysis, law, and communication, where you provide facts about schools needed both internally and externally.

We offer an stimulating work environment with colleagues who have diverse competencies and experiences. You will work in a field that is important and complex: the school and education system as a central and multifaceted social institution, right in the middle of political debate but also in people's daily lives and of great significance to many.

"You who like numbers and pleasant colleagues will find many of us here!" – Christina Sandström, Unit Manager

We are looking for a person for the statistics operations within the Swedish National Agency for Education's Analysis Division, specifically the Unit for Upper Secondary and Adult Education Statistics. Approximately 20 people work at the unit. On the division, your colleagues work on investigating issues in government assignments, following up or evaluating reforms and school development initiatives, participating in international studies, and managing registers.

You will work in our modern and spacious office at Solna Business Park. You may also have the opportunity to work up to 50% remotely.
