Start date: August 2026
Scope: 75%
Employment type: Long-term substitute
We are now looking for an engaged and driven Development Manager for our preschool for a substitute position at 75% with a start date of August 10, 2026. The position will be filled during the regular Development Manager's sick leave (long-term substitute for 6-18 months) and involves close collaboration with management as well as overall responsibility for supporting and driving development work within three preschool units.
About the role
As a Development Manager, you will have a key role in shaping, developing, and strengthening the quality within our three preschool units. You work closely with management and become an important driving force in the organization's continued development journey, where the focus is on translating visions, research, and regulatory documents into concrete pedagogical practice.
The role combines strategic development work with operationally close support. You lead processes, create engagement, and contribute to making the development work both meaningful and sustainable for the work teams.
The role includes, among other things:
- Drive, coordinate, and follow up on the organization's development and quality work based on the curriculum, the School Act, and the organization's goals.
- Be a qualified support for work teams and educators in pedagogical development work.
- Lead processes, projects, and working groups with a focus on learning, quality, and development.
- Contribute to analysis, follow-up, and systematic quality work at both unit and organizational levels.
- Support the implementation of new working methods, development initiatives, and change processes.
- Develop learning environments that promote children's learning, participation, language development, and well-being.
- Create conditions for collegial learning, reflection, and professional dialogue.
- Contribute to strengthening the organization's work in language development, multilingualism, interculturality, and inclusive learning environments.
- Collaborate closely with the principal, management, and employees to ensure that development work gains traction throughout the organization.
This is a role for you who thrives on helping people grow, who sees opportunities where others see obstacles, and who is motivated by creating long-term improvements that make a real difference for children, educators, and the organization.
We are looking for someone who
- Sees the connection between daily practice, research, and regulatory documents and can help others do the same.
- Has the ability to identify development potential where others see challenges.
- Is curious and asks questions that lead to reflection, learning, and development.
- Has the courage to challenge established working methods while creating security in change processes.
- Can switch between a strategic holistic perspective and operational support in the activity.
- Has a well-developed analytical ability and enjoys investigating the causes behind results rather than just focusing on symptoms.
- Is skilled at creating conditions for collegial learning and professional dialogue.
- Has the ability to translate ideas and visions into concrete actions and sustainable working methods.
- Sees relationships as a key to development and is good at building trust in different groups.
- Has an exploratory approach and is driven by constantly developing both the organization and yourself.
- Is unpretentious and sees the value in learning together with others.
- Can make development work feel meaningful, relevant, and feasible for employees.
- Has the ability to capture and spread good examples within the organization.
- Is comfortable leading processes where the path forward is not always clear from the start.
- Has an intercultural approach and sees diversity as a resource in development work.
- Has the ability to create engagement, participation, and understanding of development processes through clear and trust-building communication.
- Has experience with language-developing working methods and understanding of how language, communication, and multilingualism affect children's learning and participation.
- Thrives in the role of enabler and coach rather than controller.
- Has the ability to create structure without hindering creativity and innovation.
- Can translate quality data, observations, and reflections into development initiatives that make a real difference in the activity.
- A B driver's license and access to a private car are meritorious, as the role involves close collaboration between our three preschool units and regular visits to the activities.
