The Swedish Inspectorate of Health and Welfare (IVO) is growing and is now looking for inspectors specializing in health and medical care to develop state supervision and licensing. We are in an expansion phase and need to strengthen our operations with more resources for an important and exciting assignment! We are now seeking inspectors specializing in health and medical care, based in Stockholm.

About the job

As an inspector specializing in health and medical care, you will investigate your own cases within the health and medical care sector. As an inspector, you always work from a user and patient perspective, with the supervision mandate aiming to investigate, control, and set requirements to contribute to better health and medical care for individuals and different groups of people.

Your main tasks will include, among other things:

  • independently drive, investigate, and assess cases regarding individuals' complaints according to the Patient Safety Act (EK-PSL).
  • contact healthcare providers, health and medical care personnel, and reporters during the investigation process.
  • collaborate nationally with colleagues across the country.
  • participate in close and cross-professional collaborations.

We work together nationally, and you will have colleagues all over the country. At your office, you are part of a team with colleagues within the specific case category. You are part of a close and cross-professional collaboration with inspectors, supervising dentists, supervising physicians, and decision-makers. In the long term, the content of your work may change to include other case categories.

Currently, our agency is in an exciting phase of change and development work. Therefore, you should thrive and want to work in a changing environment with a high pace.

The positions are permanent appointments with a six-month probationary period, based in Stockholm. Travel in the course of duty may occur.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • a Swedish nursing license.
  • at least 3 years of experience working in primary care, somatic specialist care, psychiatric specialist care, and/or municipal health and medical care.
  • documented experience in independent patient safety, analysis, investigation, quality, and/or development work.
  • very good knowledge of Swedish, both orally and in writing.
  • good knowledge of health and medical care legislation.

To succeed in the role, you need to have both good collaboration skills and high integrity. You have good judgment and feel confident in your professional role. You are good at driving your own cases and seeing what you need to do to move forward in your work.
