Group 1, Sector Competitiveness Unit, Ministry of Climate and Enterprise

The Sector Competitiveness Unit is responsible for issues concerning the competitiveness, development, and resilience of various sectors, including manufacturing industry, industry-related services, strategic technologies, life sciences, mining and mineral industry, basic industry, as well as hospitality and tourism. The unit is also responsible for geological surveys, mineral extraction, and exploration, as well as the management of the Swedish Geological Survey (SGU).

The unit is now seeking a staff member responsible for issues regarding industrial competitiveness and investments in Sweden, as well as budget coordination within the unit. You will also contribute to several initiatives to develop and implement the government's policy in the unit's area of responsibility. This will involve national, EU-related, and regionally linked issues. Duties will include, for example, preparing government cases, providing background material for political leadership, and contributing expertise in the field.

The role often requires quick decision-making and working at a high pace. You should therefore be prepared to work in conditions where you must be ready for the unexpected. The work is characterized by close dialogue and collaboration with colleagues in the unit and other units within the Government Offices, the ministry's management, and the agencies under the Ministry of Climate and Enterprise. If necessary, you will also participate in meetings within EU and international bodies. Business travel may be required.

Your background

We are looking for you who have an academic degree in a relevant field. Furthermore, you have experience with, and a good understanding of, the state budget and the public budget process. You also have experience in case processing/investigative work within an agency or another politically governed organization, such as a region or municipality, as well as good knowledge of Swedish public administration.

In addition, you have very good skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

We consider it meritorious if you have experience working in the Government Offices, experience with framework conditions, business development, and a good understanding of entrepreneurship. Knowledge and understanding of business competitiveness and conditions are also considered meritorious.

Other information

The position is a permanent employment with a six-month probationary period.

Start date by agreement.

A security clearance will be conducted before a decision on employment is made.
