About the School

Practical Gymnasium in Helsingborg offers students a concept where theory is mixed with practical exercises both at the school and out at workplaces. At Practical, we hold ourselves to high standards to create the best conditions for a educational and fun training. Our teaching is characterized by flexibility, proximity, and practical learning. Our students are enrolled in the Vehicle Program, Industrial Program, Construction Program, HVAC Program, Electrical Program, and Hairdressing Program. Currently, the school has approximately 290 students and about 40 employees.

Practical Gymnasium in Helsingborg offers apprenticeship programs. We are located in the Berga industrial area and have our own workshops. We are a small school with good cohesion where everyone knows everyone. Our dedicated staff is always there for the students and provides them with the guidance they need to succeed in their education.

Your Role

The position is a permanent full-time (100%) employment starting in August 2026. You will teach and supervise our students on the Construction Program and, together with other colleagues, you will be part of a work team. We see you as an important and driving force to develop both the program and the subject, with the students in focus and in collaboration with colleagues. In addition to subject-specific tasks, you, like other teachers at the school, have duties such as mentor, and together you and your colleagues coach the students both socially and academically through their three years at Practical Gymnasium. We communicate primarily through Schoolsoft and work in a Google environment by sharing digital documents, calendars, and plans. This applies equally to students and colleagues.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who is a versatile carpenter (woodworker) who has worked in the construction industry and has a large network in that specific industry. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. Our students are apprentices and have 50% of their education in workplace-based learning, which requires dedicating part of their time to companies and students. You plan courses, follow up on, and assess students in relation to different companies. We value your ability to meet students based on their knowledge and needs, and that you identify with our values and keywords. Our students are eager to enter the working life, and your biggest task is to lead them there!
