Myrstuguberget Independent School is a primary school located in the heart of the Myrstuguberget residential area – a so-called "school in the village" that celebrated its 30th anniversary last year. The school currently has approximately 116 students distributed across grades Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 5, and many local residents choose to enroll their children here. The school has a good reputation and is characterized by the motto: "It is important to me that you are doing well".

The staff is dedicated, class sizes are smaller than average, and staff turnover has been low. There is one class per grade level, and the school is divided into two units. "Vargen" hosts Grades 1–3, while "Myran" hosts Pre-Kindergarten as well as Grades 4 and 5. The school is currently led by the Principal, the manager of the after-school care center, and team leaders responsible for Grades Pre-Kindergarten to 5.

We are looking for YOU, who can take significant responsibility, are creative, flexible, and eager to collaborate in a team! We prefer that you are a qualified music teacher, but primarily that you are competent in the subject and passionate about teaching. Previous teaching experience, both in cultural schools and primary schools, is an advantage.

The position can be structured in two ways. Either as a 40% position spread over two days a week, where you are primarily responsible for music education but also have some time allocated to after-school care. Alternatively, the position can be expanded to 100% and filled with after-school activities (support in class during school hours) on the remaining days. Music education takes place in whole classes in Grades 1 and 2, and in smaller groups of approximately 10–12 students in Grades 3, 4, and 5 to enable high-quality teaching.

Over the past two years, the school has prioritized work on digitalization and student health. This academic year, we are working on language-developing teaching methods both at school and in the after-school care center, which we would like to see reflected in music education as well. We aim to continue developing the after-school care center to create "a red thread" throughout the students' entire school day, so initiatives for music activities in after-school care are highly appreciated.

The school is characterized by a high staff-to-student ratio and qualified teachers. The school also has a Student Health Team (SHT) consisting of the Principal, school nurse, school psychologist, counselor, and special education teacher.
