Fristadsskolan is a middle school located in the center of Eskilstuna with approximately 470 students and 60 employees. The school has been newly renovated, and we have fresh, modern facilities. At our school, teaching quality is the focus. We work with research support and support each other in developing our teaching, also with the help of digital tools. Our skilled full-time mentors work with student social issues and contribute to our work on safety and study environment. Our structures for collegial collaboration are well established with scheduled subject time every week, and there is a culture at the school of doing things together and helping each other. (This autumn, we will remove our local agreement and return to working 35+10)

In this position, you teach Swedish 40% and Spanish 60%. You have access to subject-specific classrooms, where we invest in the physical and pedagogical work environment. You are also part of a subject team with highly competent and experienced colleagues in your subjects. As a teacher, you plan, implement, and follow up on your teaching according to the Lgr22 curriculum. You create inspiring learning environments where students can explore and develop their knowledge within the subject. You become part of a team of professional and engaged educators.
As a teacher with us, you have the role of responsible teacher for a class, which you share with two other colleagues. At the school, we have full-time mentors who work with student social issues and their knowledge development at the group and individual level, in collaboration with teachers.
We are looking for you with a teaching degree and teaching license with eligibility to teach Spanish and Swedish, grades 7-9. Alternatively, you have ongoing studies that will be completed shortly. It is meritorious if you have previous experience of teaching in pedagogical activities, from work or VFU (practicum). We also view positively that you have experience of teaching according to the current curriculum. The position requires that you have very good knowledge of Swedish and Spanish in speech and writing, as well as that you feel comfortable using IT as part of your teaching.
We place great emphasis on personal qualities and see that you are a leader who can adapt your leadership in the classroom to the situation. You are an engaged employee who has good cooperation skills. You can build trust and listen to different needs, and have an easy time communicating with both young people and adults. We also believe that you want to develop in your role as a teacher and contribute to the continued development of Fristadsskolan.
