About Skogsängsskolan

Skogsängsskolan is a newly built school for grades F-6 (preschool to grade 6) with excellent facilities and a fantastic schoolyard. We have grown over the last few years and currently have approximately 460 students in a three-stream organization. At our school, we work together with a focus on collegial learning. We work proactively to create safety and good conditions for student learning in our multicultural school unit. We use differentiated and language-developing teaching methods to achieve higher goal fulfillment.

The school has a comprehensive student health team including a counselor, school nurse, social pedagogue, special teacher, and special pedagogue. A school psychologist and school doctor are available through the central student health service. To create safety and a good study environment, we place great emphasis on norms, values, and good relationships. An important part of this work is our organized and well-functioning recess activities.

Responsibilities

At our school, you will teach Physical Education and Health to students in grades 1-6. You will share the teaching with an experienced colleague. For some classes, you will work together in a co-teaching model. You adapt the teaching to the students' age and knowledge level. You create a safe environment where all students feel included and have the opportunity to develop confidence in their own physical abilities.

The school has its own gymnasium and good opportunities for outdoor teaching in the nearby nature. Together with a colleague, you will share the mentorship for a middle school class (grades 4-6). As a mentor, you follow the students' academic and social development, maintain contact with guardians, and contribute to creating safety, well-being, and good conditions for learning.

You will also contribute to the school's joint work on classroom leadership, study environment, and accessible learning environments.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a teaching degree and teacher certification with eligibility to teach Physical Education and Health. You may also be at the end of your education and finish shortly. It is meritorious if you have experience teaching in schools and are accustomed to working according to the current curriculum.

It is important to us that you want to develop the operations and contribute to a safe and meaningful school experience for our students. You have a good ability to build relationships and can adapt your leadership style based on the situation and student group. To thrive with us, you need to be a team player who collaborates well with others, listens to different perspectives, and contributes to a positive work climate.
