The Education Division has over 1,900 employees, and together we work to provide children, young people, and adults with a good education. Our focus is on stimulating students' learning and development based on their individual prerequisites. Among us are some of society's most important services, and you can be sure that your work will play a significant role in many people's lives.
We are responsible for, among other things, 36 preschools, two preschool buses, 17 primary schools, adapted primary schools, Nyköping Gymnasium, Adapted Upper Secondary School, as well as adult education at Campus Nyköping.
Our F-9 organization consists of 17 primary schools and 3 adapted primary schools. In each principal's area, there is one principal, several deputy principals, and a student health team comprising various professions. With schools in both rural areas and urban centers, we work to increase equality and integration among and between schools, as well as strengthen the quality of municipal primary education. It is about giving all students – regardless of school – the same opportunities for education and development.
The focus in recent years has been on developing a plan for systematic quality work and a common language-developing approach for the entire organization. It is important to us that time is dedicated to working on our common issues at both the management and operational levels; therefore, each school has scheduled time every week for conferences, development work, collaborative projects, and more.
In Nyköping Municipality, there are three adapted primary schools that together form a joint principal's area:
Together, we create a whole where every student is given the opportunity to develop based on their individual prerequisites. Our operations are characterized by security, structure, clarity, and a strong student focus. Here, dedicated employees work in close collaboration with student health services, guardians, and external actors.
Do you want to make a real difference for students with intellectual disabilities? Adapted Primary School, Långsätter, grades 1-6, is looking for you who are a primary teacher with a focus on after-school care (fritidshem), possessing the knowledge and willingness to teach classes partly during school hours.
2 positions available.
As a primary teacher with a focus on after-school care at Adapted Primary School, Långsätter, you will plan, lead, and drive development in our three after-school departments, working alongside our student assistants who work both in school and at after-school care. You will work at the after-school care during afternoons but also have parts of your teaching duties during the school day. This means you also have a leading function both at after-school care and in the classroom for student assistants, where you together shape good pedagogical work. You work systematically and develop your teaching and learning environments, which contributes to raising the quality of education for our students.
Our students study both subjects and subject areas and are at different developmental levels. Students attend smaller classes and are divided into smaller groups during certain lessons. Teaching may need to be individualized, but always with the goal of eventually reaching the whole group through differentiated instruction. In the work team, there are teachers and other student assistants with whom you collaborate closely. You will have a colleague with the same type of position as you, where you develop a close collaboration both at after-school care and in school. Together, you will become an important team to lead our after-school care in the right direction and provide our students with good education.
You are solution-focused and flexible in your work, and together with your colleagues, you seek the best possible ways to reach all students through an inclusive approach.
The applicant should be confident in teaching processes and structured in their working methods. The applicant should have knowledge and experience in teaching students with intellectual disabilities and other disabilities, as well as good knowledge and understanding of students with significant care needs. You should have experience leading other employees/colleagues and possess qualities such as being attentive and patient.
We place great emphasis on your ability to create a secure and structured learning environment for the students. Flexibility and a solution-oriented approach are important components of the work.
Since the job places high demands on meeting the needs of many different students and collaborating with adults with various competencies, it is required that you find it easy to collaborate and interact in different environments and contexts. You must be responsive but also able to make independent decisions. You should be able to work both independently and in a group. You have experience and knowledge regarding the handling of various types of aids, both for learning and physical aids such as power wheelchairs, standing frames, walking frames, and other aids that need to be considered in work at after-school care and in school.
Personal qualities required to succeed in the role include teamwork, responsibility, trustworthiness, and confidence. It is important to be able to act professionally and patiently in difficult and pressured situations.
