University West is seeking a University Lecturer in Logistics with a focus on Sustainable Transport Systems

The Department of Industrial Economics at University West conducts education and research at the intersection of technology, economics, and organization. The operations are characterized by close collaboration with business and the public sector, as well as a strong focus on sustainable development and operational improvement. The department possesses competence in areas such as production economics, logistics, project management, and operational development.

Job Responsibilities:

The position includes teaching, research, and collaboration within logistics and supply chain management. Teaching and supervision can take place at the undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels.

The responsibilities include:

• Teaching and developing courses in logistics, digitalization, and supply chain management. Teaching is conducted in both Swedish and English.
• Supervising bachelor's and master's theses.
• Participating in and developing research projects within logistics and digital transformation.
• Seeking and conducting externally funded research in collaboration with business and public actors.
• Contributing to the development of the research environment at the Department of Industrial Economics.
• Developing national and international networks with academia and industry.

Collaboration with the surrounding society is an important part of the position. Experience in building research and innovation projects together with external partners is therefore particularly valuable.

Qualification Requirements for the Position of University Lecturer:

- Documented pedagogical skill (Chapter 4, Section 4 of the Higher Education Act). Applicants who lack pedagogical merits from an academic environment must have competence equivalent to the university college's qualification requirements, although this may have been acquired in a manner other than within an academic environment.

- Completed higher education pedagogical education of at least ten weeks or equivalent competence. If higher education pedagogical education is lacking, employment may still take place on the condition that the employee completes the education during the first two years of employment.

- Completed doctoral degree or equivalent scientific competence or another professional skill that is significant with regard to the subject content of the position and the duties included in the position (Chapter 4, Section 4 of the Higher Education Act).

Additional requirements for this position:

• Completed doctoral degree in logistics, industrial economics, or a related field.
• Documented pedagogical skill.
• Good ability to teach in Swedish and English.
• Documented scientific competence within the subject area of the position.
• Documented collaboration skills with business and the public sector.

Qualifications that are considered meritorious for the position:

The following qualifications are particularly meritorious:

• Experience of research in sustainable transport, digitalization, or intelligent transport systems.
• Experience in initiating, leading, and conducting externally funded research projects.
• Experience from the transport, logistics, or automotive industry.
• Documented experience in project management.
• Experience of work-integrated learning and collaboration-based research.
• Experience in supervising theses and doctoral students.

Other Information:

The position is a fixed-term full-time appointment. Start date by agreement.
