Description

We are looking for a Municipal Lawyer for the Legal & Procurement unit. Legal & Procurement is organizationally part of the Administration, focusing on Security.

As a Municipal Lawyer, you provide legal support to the administration and the political organization. Internal legal competence is supplemented as needed with hired lawyers and legal consultants. In addition to providing legal support to the municipality's operations and companies, the unit is responsible for the municipality's procurement and purchasing organization.

Aside from the Administration, the administration in Kungälv Municipality is divided into three sectors. In this recruitment, we are seeking a Municipal Lawyer who will largely support the central administration management and the Society and Development sector.

Responsibilities

As a Municipal Lawyer, you provide legal support to the municipality's administration and political bodies in various legal matters, review contracts, act as a representative in legal proceedings, assist in various types of negotiations, write official reports, respond to inquiries with legal connections, and more. You conduct training for civil servants and elected officials on legal matters.

You work independently and handle your cases under your own responsibility, but you are also part of a legal team consisting of two municipal lawyers, three administrative lawyers, and the unit manager.

The tasks for this position will primarily focus on issues concerning the Society and Development sector, including municipal law, property law, and construction law. Issues related to social law, school legislation, and corporate law will also arise.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a law degree and at least five years of experience in qualified legal work in a municipality, municipal company, government agency, law firm, or court. You are meticulous, driven, and able to communicate in Swedish in a correct, clear, and pedagogical manner, both orally and in writing.

You have integrity and enjoy collaborating with people with different competencies and experiences to achieve common goals. You thrive in a consultant role and in working within a politically governed organization. The work pace can be high at times, and the questions very varied.

To be considered for the position, you must have experience assisting with qualified legal support within one of the areas: municipal law, property law, and/or construction law. It is also meritorious if you have experience with contract drafting and contract negotiations, as well as knowledge and experience in corporate law.

Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.

Recruitment Process

During weeks 28–30, the hiring manager will be on vacation. Any questions regarding the position will be answered from week 31 onwards.

Interviews are planned to be held during weeks 34–35. During the interview, you will meet the hiring manager and the manager of the Society and Development sector.
